The draft picks will be flying on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Edgewood College when more than 50 local business leaders seek to fill nearly 40 nonprofit board seats in one day. Nonprofit Draft Day is a free, one-day event that connects nonprofit agencies with prospective board member talent. The event follows a sports draft format, complete with walk-up songs and draft picks announced on stage.
The “free agent” local leaders represent a diverse talent pool, everything from lawyers, to IT executives, to CPAs. The nonprofits range from well-known organizations, such as the Salvation Army, American Diabetes Association of Wisconsin and Easter Seals of Wisconsin, to more grassroots organizations, such as Kennedy Heights Community Center and Friends of Allen Centennial Garden.
TASC (Total Administrative Services Corporation), one of the country’s top employee benefits third-party administrators, joins the list of Nonprofit Draft Day sponsors. Christian Rosenstock, executive vice president of business development, says, “Nonprofit Draft Day is a unique solution to a pressing problem: the need to fill vacant board seats. TASC is pleased to sponsor this event as part of our ongoing efforts to make a difference within the communities where we live and work.”
The event is free and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to register in advance at https://www.nonprofitdraftday.org/. The deadline for nonprofit registration is Wednesday, January 17. Free agents can register up to the day of the event.
