Describe what you'll bring to a nonprofit board: Think of me as your friendly neighborhood fifth columnist. I come from the world of innovation strategy and marketing, with over two decades of various board experience, making me slightly choosy as to where I am willing to spend my time. In terms of functional skill sets, while my macro focus is as above, I tend to approach things with a very structured view of project management frameworks, guided by metrics, and with the understanding that cultural adoption is the primary foundation on which success might be achieved. I tend to focus on local first, and this is exciting to me, as my wife and I are relatively new to the area. I also prefer to work with non-profits that either have a 5 star Charity Navigator rating, are aiming for one, or would model those behaviors even if the organization is too small (currently) to qualify. The other organizations I would prefer to work with would be ones in crisis transition, where my impact would be measured by taking a shambles and turning it into a paragon. I tend to be less diplomatic than most, and very hands-on in my guidance, with zero tolerance for malfeasance and a marked impatience with incompetence. If your organization is slowly plodding, and does things the same way every day, I am likely not an ideal draftee. On the other hand, if you are looking for someone to jump in, immediately impact the organization, and focus on innovative growth, I might just be your guy.

Describe what you'll bring to a nonprofit board : I have prior experience serving on boards and it is a strong desire within me to contribute to society in this capacity. I was born and raised on a farm in northern Wisconsin and moved back to this beautiful state in the spring of 2017 because I love Wisconsin! Prior service includes serving on the Board of Directors for a Chamber of Commerce and Wisconsin Main Street Association, writing grants, implementing community events, acting as Campus Ambassador, and serving on a variety of scholastic clubs and 4-H. I am a proven business professional with a demonstrated history of success in a variety of industries including insurance, transportation, casino (gaming), real estate, higher education, accounting, small businesses and corporations. Broad experience in financial accounting, project management, public speaking, strategy development, concept implementation, acquisitions, statistical research, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, auditing, SOX and SOC compliance, risk management, domestic and international financial analysis and leadership.
In addition to the professional experience above, the personal qualities I bring to a nonprofit board are a strong work ethic, leadership, organization, empathy, and diversity. I grew up on a working farm doing chores before and after school from the time that I could walk and could handle getting stepped on by a cow! I participated in sports, performing and visual arts and was awarded a full ride art scholarship. Served in leadership roles for 4-H on a local, district, state and national level. Lead and organized various community events including the Wisconsin Governor's Fishing Opener for Tommy Thompson and the Wisconsin League of Women Senators. I possess empathy toward those who have endured tragedies and challenges and I am dedicated to equality and diversity in the workplace and ultimately society as a whole.

Describe what you'll bring to a nonprofit board : To whom it may concern,
My history of working in film and marketing and helping to build startups allows me to bring a unique perspective to any brainstorm. Throughout my video and marketing career, I have developed a cinematic language that entwines empathy, wonder, and hope, and my visual language emphasizes authenticity and human consciousness, enabling it to connect with people on a universal level. My diverse background has given me the opportunity to connect with different people through innovative mediums, which I aim to expand more of in the coming years.
Professionally, I bring innovative, cutting edge, and creative video production and marketing strategies that reach, communicate, and engage with modern audiences. In addition to this I bring highly effective strategies that actually make video and content work for you. In my industry, most spend a lot of resources, time, and finances for video and content services with uncertain results, if any. Over the past ten years I have learned that content production and marketing setup properly with hosting platforms, KPI's, and proper distribution models can and will be a great lead generation and conversion tool with clear measurable results. Few implement it that way. Most produce and push out hoping that something will come of it, not ever knowing the true effectiveness of their content towards their goals.
Overall, I bring professional expertise and initiative but I really just care about helping people. That's what drives my excellence in everything I do. My work serves a greater purpose to educate, bring hope, and inspire. That's who I am as a person and it bleeds into everything I do.
Thank you for your time.

Describe what you'll bring to a nonprofit board : Hello,
I would like to bring well-rounded millennial experiences to a nonprofit board. As a African American, college educated, queer woman I bring a very broad perspective on issues that require nonprofit attention. As a American that was born and raised in the very poor inner city of Detroit, my family has been recipicants of many nonprofit programs. Now as a working middle class tax payer that has "pulled themselves up by their bootstraps" when I didn't even have a boot to begin with, I understand what resources are needed to secure a decent chance at a substainable life. My views focus in on multiculturalism intersectionality. These views have been forged not only from my AA viewpoint but also from my sisterhood in a multicultural sorority, workings from extensive worldly travel, social justice political work, and current non profit volunteering through MUM. Lastly, what I can bring to a board is my insights and strategy skills. Eventhough nonprofits are not for profit these organizations must still be run as a for profit business. In my professional capacity I determine if it is strategically wise to enter certain markets or target specific companies for our food ingredients. I can take these same skill when determining allocations of resources for non-profits. Overall, I am a well-rounded individual that is looking forward to helping the Madison community. Thank you for the consideration.
